Now, last night Madison Johnson and I completed our second charitable deed! We drove for safe rides until half past three in the morning, so I guess it was yesterday AND today! It was such a fun way to give back to the Elon community, and after last night I am convinced that we may have saved some lives. I've actually been thinking about the Safe Rides organization a lot today. I now believe this is something that should be implemented in all universities, or even taken to a higher level and organized throughout the country. Wouldn't it be beneficial to have an organization dedicated to the active prevention of drunk driving in our country? I feel like a lot of deaths from drunk driving could be prevented.
It was also a truly enjoyable experience for Madison and I last night. We got to meet a whole lot of new people from so many majors and social circles outside our own! It was an awesome way to interact with the greater Elon community!!
I'm so thankful that I finally had this experience before graduating. Mads and I made some memories that I will always remember and cherish. It was an exhilarating night, we were in that car for about 6 hours!
This was our Safe Rides mom van! We nicknamed her the Mother of Dragons and we used this name to communicate with headquarters!
Look, we made some friends last night! Picture Credit: Ryan James Monroe!
My daily practice today was devoted to working on material for Mastering Your Mix!
Minutes: 34
Repertoire: Fly Fly Away
Technique Worked: I feel like this song is placed right in my break, and especially with my stuffy nose it's hard to place correctly! I worked on the pharyngeal resonance and the accuracy and smoothness of the riffs!
Musicality Worked: I wanted to work on the phrasing with this one, especially when the lyrics are listing things. I find that the lyrics are sometimes broken up melodically in a way that is difficult for me to master, so I wanted to find a way to motivate that and help solidify it in my mind!
That's all for now!
XOXO
