Once again, the only healthy meal I managed to document today was my breakfast... sigh. Before getting my butt to rehearsal today, I sat down with a refreshing bowl of plain greek yogurt, strawberries, walnuts and chia seeds. I decided to omit the cinnamon and stevia this morning.
Sometimes I like to leave out the sweetness so my breakfast is a little more tart and less dessert-like. Speaking of which, has anyone noticed the recent trend of frozen yogurt shops doing away with the original tart flavor?! The cookie-dough-extra-chocolate-mousse stuff is all fine and dandy, but let's call it what it is-- ice cream. I'm talking plain old, still-tastes-like-yogurt, original flavor. I'm distraught, it's one of my favorite things in the whole world, and I'm struggling to find it anywhere!
That was a tangent....but with the recent warm weather I've been craving it, and yet I can't find a frozen yogurt place that has it anymore. I'm upset.
ANYHOW, here are the pictures of my breakfast this morning! I almost started eating it before I took the pictures, I'm glad I remembered in time! What is this? Healthy meal #4? I think that's it!
After rehearsal, I realized I needed to do A LOT of work on "Me and My Baby" so I devoted some time to practicing it. I want to have it down so well that I can go on autopilot come performance time, because the dance is fast!
Daily Practice #4
Minutes: 36
Rep: "Me and My Baby"
Technique Worked: I was really struggling to get the breathiness out of the sound today, especially since I was PANTING from the cardio of the dance! So I worked a lot on breath support today as well as relaxing into my chest voice and adding some pharyngeal ping to it!
Musicality Worked: Oh man, I worked on memorization today and drilled the words over and over. I also focused on the differentiation of the rhythm and feeling between the first two verses when the song is sung solo and the last verse when ensemble is added.
And that's all for today! I thought I would go easy on y'all since my post was so lengthy yesterday. ;)
'Til tomorrow,
XOXO
